Welcome to Reed Island Springs Baptist Church
Experience meaningful worship, fellowship and spiritual growth at
Reed Island Springs Baptist Church.
Reed Island Springs Baptist Church was organized on Friday, December 11, 1931.
Present that winter night to undertake the start of this church were nine charter members, two men and seven women. Also present were five other Christians who were received into the body of the church that night. The first pastor of the church was Rev. Frank D. Roach of Axton, Virginia. Since the winter of 1931, many things in this world have changed. The fortunate thing for Christians to remember is that things not of this world have remained the same. Sin is still sin and salvation is still available for the asking. God has not changed, nor will He.
Reed Island Springs Baptist Church exists to glorify God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, by helping each individual and family grow in fervent love for God, love for one another and for those without Christ, both locally, regionally & globally. We seek to accomplish this through the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, discipleship, evangelism and through the careful teaching and expositional preaching of obedience to God’s Word of Truth. One of our main goals is that our church families would be a lighthouse to the nearby community.
Pastor Shannon and his wife Carolyn or as she is better known Bumblebee have been married for 30 years. They have 5 sons, 3 of which are preachers of the gospel. 4 daughter in laws and 5 grandchildren 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. They have ministered together all these years together first in the youth ministry, then in the Pastorate. God has blessed them with a loving and supportive and Crazy family. They give God all the Honor,Glory, and Praise for the blessings and struggles in life. Pastor Shannon's favorite verses are
(Col 1:16) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
(Col 1:17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
(Col 1:18) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

It is time again to begin collecting items for the Samaritan Purse Shoe Box Ministry. Last year we were blessed with 916 shoe boxes. We are praying that 2024 will be another great year.
The age groups are 2-4,5-9, and 10'14 girls and boys. Many people would rather order online than shop. Some good websites to order from are Temu, Amazon, Samaritan Purse etc. There are many more to also order from. If you don’t like to order or shop, Dianne Dalton and Katrina Culler shop year-round, if you would like to contribute they will be glad to shop for you.
A list has been prepared to let you know about items that can go in a shoe box and items that can’t. The lists cannot cover every item that can or cannot go. If in doubt. please ask!
Again if you have any questions please ask. We will be more than happy. you!» m to help you. We would appreciate any donations you can give. Thank to help you. We would appreciate any donations you can give. Thank you!
